Tips for Easy Retrievals

Step 1
Positioning

Line yourself up so you can attack the disc's rim from the side.

Move yourself to the left or right, or nudge the disc with the end of the Snapjaw until you find a good line of attack.

Step 2
The Approach
How to hold the Snapjaw

Hold the tape measure in one hand.

Use the other to support the tape

as you carefully extend it towards your disc.

(for Snapjaw T)

A little practice goes a long way here

The goal is to position the Snapjaw so that its mouth is around the center of the rim of the disc with the tape still flexed (not limp, or "broken").

(for Snapjaw P)

Extend the pole and reach it towards your disc as normal.

Maneuver the Snapjaw so that its mouth is around the center of the rim of the disc, and get ready to jab it forward.

Position the Snapjaw to grab your disc
Step 3
Strike!

Quickly jab the Snapjaw forward a few inches to lock it onto the disc. If you don't get a good bite, reposition and try again.

Grab your disc

Once locked on, simply drag the disc back home! The Snapjaw's bite is strong enough to pull discs through light brush, or even straight up through the air.

Happy Hunting!

NOTE: Caring for your Tape Measure or Pole

After retrieving, use a towel to wipe any water or dirt off your tape or pole before retracting, to prevent rusting or sticking.

WARNING!

When maneuvering the Snapjaw through brush, avoid snapping it around a branch at all costs!

Don't grab a tree

If locked on out of reach, there is no easy way to free it. You will probably have to break your Snapjaw. Luckily, it's easy to attach another.
